Privacy Policy for watsi Exportador de Chats
Last updated: August 25, 2026 This policy describes how the "watsi Exportador de Chats" Chrome extension (the "Extension") handles information. It is separate from the watsi platform Privacy Policy (https://www.watsi.ai/en/privacy-policy) because the Extension operates entirely independently of the platform. ──────────────────────────────────────── 1. SUMMARY ──────────────────────────────────────── The Extension does NOT collect data. It does not transmit anything to watsi or to any third party. It makes no network requests at all. The Extension reads the one-to-one conversations already loaded in your WhatsApp Web session, assembles a JSON file inside your own browser, and saves it to your downloads folder. That file never leaves your machine by any action of the Extension. There is no account, no sign-in, no server and no database involved. ──────────────────────────────────────── 2. WHAT IT PROCESSES (LOCALLY) ──────────────────────────────────────── When you click "Export", the Extension reads the following from the WhatsApp Web session open in your browser: • Messages from your one-to-one chats: text, message type, timestamp, and who sent it. • Attachment metadata: MIME type, duration, filename and size. File contents are NOT downloaded. • Contact details: WhatsApp identifier, phone number, saved name, public name, verified business name. • Call log entries: date, direction, duration, whether the call was missed, and whether it was video. No call audio is captured. Group chats, channels and status broadcasts are deliberately skipped. All of this happens in your browser. The data exists in the tab's memory during the export and afterwards in the file you downloaded. The Extension keeps it nowhere else — it uses no browser storage and no cookies. ──────────────────────────────────────── 3. THIRD-PARTY DATA (YOUR CONTACTS) ──────────────────────────────────────── Be aware of this: a conversation is not yours alone. The exported file contains messages written by your contacts, along with their names and phone numbers. The Extension hands that information to you and to nobody else. From that point on the file is solely your responsibility: where you store it, who you share it with, and on what legal basis you process it. If you operate under the GDPR, the LFPDPPP, or an equivalent regime, any further processing of that data is your responsibility, not watsi's. We recommend treating the exported file as sensitive personal information. ──────────────────────────────────────── 4. PERMISSIONS THE EXTENSION REQUESTS ──────────────────────────────────────── The Extension requests exactly one permission: • Access to https://web.whatsapp.com/* — required to read, within that page, the conversations WhatsApp has already loaded, and to confirm the active tab really is WhatsApp Web. It requests no storage, history, background-tab, downloads, or any other site access. ──────────────────────────────────────── 5. WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES NOT DO ──────────────────────────────────────── • It does not send your data to watsi. The Extension does not contact watsi's servers in any way. • It does not send your data to third parties. • It contains no analytics, telemetry, remote error reporting or advertising. • It contains no remote code: everything it runs ships inside the package Google reviewed. • It does not send messages or modify your WhatsApp account. It only reads. • It does not download photo, audio or document contents. • It does not access group chats. • It does not train artificial-intelligence models on your information. ──────────────────────────────────────── 6. DATA RETENTION ──────────────────────────────────────── None. The Extension stores nothing between sessions. Closing the tab discards everything it held in memory. The only persistent artifact is the JSON file you downloaded, which lives on your machine under your control. ──────────────────────────────────────── 7. YOUR RIGHTS ──────────────────────────────────────── Because the Extension neither collects nor retains information, there is no data to request from us, correct, or delete. To remove every trace of the Extension, uninstall it from chrome://extensions and delete any files you exported. RELATIONSHIP TO WHATSAPP AND META ──────────────────────────────────────── watsi is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. "WhatsApp" is a trademark of its respective owner and is referenced here solely to describe what the Extension works with. ──────────────────────────────────────── 9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY ──────────────────────────────────────── If the Extension changes what it does with information, we will update this page and its "Last updated" date before shipping the new version. ──────────────────────────────────────── 10.
